James Nesbitt, wife split after 19-year marriage

LONDON - Actor James Nesbitt has split from his wife of almost two decades - after spending the past two years working on the other side of the world.
The 48 year-old star, who rose to fame in ITV drama Cold Feet, has split from Sonia Forbes-Adam, with whom he has two daughters, Peggy and Mary, aged 16 and 11.
A spokesman for the couple confirmed the news with MailOnline, saying: ‘James and Sonia are living separately and have been for some time. They are on the best of terms and ask that the family’s privacy be respected.’
The pair is now said to be living separately but remain ‘on the best of terms’ after an amicable break-up. The blame for the separation has been placed on Nesbitt’s hectic work schedule, which saw him play.
Bofur in Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings prequel - a job that was primarily based in New Zealand. A friend of the couple told the press: ‘There have been no affairs or cheating. They simply made a rational decision to separate and have actually been living apart for quite a few months now.’
Obviously, their primary concern is for their children. Jimmy has moved out but is close by and sees the girls all the time.’ Originally, the couple - who met on a world tour of Hamlet in 1989 - tried to make their long-distance relationship work, with Sonia and both daughters relocating to be with Nesbitt down under.
