PESHAWAR - Secretary Information and Public Relations Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Khalid on Friday visited Pakhtunkhwa Radio FM 92.2 in Peshawar to inspect the station’s operations, assess its news output, and commend its responsible coverage during the recent tensions along the Line of Control.
The Secretary toured the news, production, accounts, and technical sections of the station, where he was briefed by Station Director Haroon Khan Dawoodzai on programming strategy, public outreach efforts, and editorial performance.
Muhammad Khalid expressed satisfaction over the station’s content, particularly its timely and credible reporting during the Pakistan-India standoff. “Pakhtunkhwa Radio has demonstrated professionalism and editorial maturity at a critical moment,” he said, noting that the station has earned public trust through consistent, fact-based reporting.
He underlined the enduring importance of radio as a medium for reliable public communication, stating that it remains a powerful tool to deliver verified information in real time.
He urged the team to continue producing content that promotes national unity and counters misinformation.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Secretary presented certificates of appreciation to staff members for their outstanding contributions. He emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening public sector media and enhancing institutional capacity for effective communication.
