Anum Khan Muhammad Sher, a police officer from Sargodha City Police Station, has brought international recognition to Pakistan by winning the prestigious 'Excellence in Criminal Investigation' award at the 2025 World Police Summit Awards held in Dubai.
The award, presented during a grand ceremony hosted by Dubai Police and attended by security experts and police leaders from over 90 countries, celebrates Anum Khan’s outstanding investigative work and leadership. Her recognition places Pakistan’s law enforcement in the global spotlight.
Officer Anum Khan was honoured for successfully leading two major murder investigations in Punjab. In the first case, she oversaw the probe into the brutal killing of 12-year-old domestic worker Ayesha Bibi, ensuring the arrest of suspects within 72 hours—a feat praised by the public and high-ranking officials, including the Punjab Chief Minister.
In another notable case, she directed the investigation into the murder of a young man named Mohsin, securing the arrest of the culprits within just 24 hours. Her swift and efficient handling of both cases earned her earlier commendations from Punjab Police for her dedication to justice and professionalism.
The World Police Summit, organised under the patronage of the UAE government, is among the most prominent international forums celebrating excellence in law enforcement. Anum Khan stood out among over 900 global entries, highlighting the significance of her achievement.
Upon receiving the award, Anum Khan stated, “This is a proud moment for Pakistan and the Punjab Police. It reflects our commitment to justice and shows that our officers are capable of meeting international policing standards. This award is dedicated to my team and the values we uphold.”
