I used to visit Nathia Gali with my parents in the 1980s and 1990s to enjoy its natural beauty, tranquillity and peace. It was a place where one could take long walks, breathe in the scent of pine trees and listen to the chirping of birds. Sadly, under the PTI government, Nathia Gali has been ruined by unchecked commercialism. Buildings, restaurants and shops are springing up all along the approach to Nathia Gali, destroying its natural charm. Someone in the KP government is clearly profiteering by allowing such construction, which is damaging the flora of the region.
The town has also fallen prey to the hotel and water supplier mafia, which provides drinking water only to guesthouses while depriving genuine homeowners of this basic necessity. I could list many more grievances, but the picture is already clear. I strongly urge the Chief Minister of KP to take notice of this destruction of what was once a beautiful paradise.
