ISLAMABAD - A major road settlement on newly constructed interchange at F-8 on Jinnah Avenue has created a controversy on Monday. As the rain hit the capital city Sunday’s evening, posts on social media alleged that a portion of road on the flyover of Jinnah Avenue Interchange has been settled.
A swear criticism came as contractor’s staff is visible in pictures and videos posted on social media in which they are fixing the damaged part of the road. Netizens grilled Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and incumbent management of the CDA for emergence of faults on the interchange, which was completed just few months ago.
However, the civic authority denied the accusations and stated that the work carried out was a routine maintenance. It clarified the recent social media reports regarding the condition of Tayyip Erdogan Interchange F-8 and said that it is a routine and planned maintenance activity of CDA as part of quality assurance of CDA protocols to ensure the project’s long-term durability and safety. The maintenance work was completed and full access is restored by Sunday evening to minimise public inconvenience.
