ISLAMABAD-Margalla police booked a driver on an offence of kidnapping a woman from capital, informed sources on Thursday.
Similarly, police have also arrested another man on charges of abducting a 17-year-old girl, they said. Robbers also burgled a shop and a house while auto-thieves pilfered a car and three motorcycles from capital, sources said.
According to details, a citizen namely Ashwin lodged complaint with Police Station (PS) Margalla stating his mother Najma Pervin was employed in a house in F-8/4 as maid. The applicant added he was called by her mother on 11/3/2021 asking to pick her up from gate number 1 of Centaurus Mall. He added he could not go to Islamabad for picking mother on which she asked her to come under Shakrial bridge to drive her to home. “I went to the said place after receiving a call from mother that she has reached but later found her missing. Her mobile phone was also switched off,” the applicant told police. He further shared her mother had some dispute with Khurram, the driver, who used to hurl threats of dire consequences at her besides demanding money. Ashwin requested police to register a case and to recover his mother. Margalla police, while taking action, registered a case and started investigation.
Shalimar police have arrested a man Sajid Manzoor on charges of kidnapping 17-year-old Mashal. A case was registered against kidnapper on complaint of Maryam Bibi, they said.
On the other hand, unknown armed robbers stormed into a mobile shop located at Dhoke Awan in limits of PS Sihala and snatched mobile phones from shopkeeper Muhammad Iqbal on gunpoint.
In Naval Anchorage, robbers entered the house of Muhammad Sagheer and burgled cash and gold. Lohibher police registered case and started investigation.
Sihala police also booked another gang of robbers who stormed into house of Mudassir Bukhari at Zaraj Housing Society and stole gold, cash and other valuables.
Likewise, auto-theft gangs have pilfered a car and three motorcycles from different localities of Islamabad. Police have launched manhunt for auto-theft gangs after filing cases against them, sources said.
