Polish govt keen to expand economic ties

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Ambassador of Poland in Pakistan, Dr Andrzej Ananiez, has urged Pakistani businessmen to invest in new technologies to more efficiently exploit countrys resource potential and to enhance bilateral trade with Poland. The Ambassador was speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday. LCCI President, Shahzad Ali Malik, Senior Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Arshad, Vice President Sohail Azhar, Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce Iftikhar Ali Malik, PIAF Chairman Sohail Lashari and Honrary Consul General of Poland in Lahore Shahbaz Khan also spoke on the occasion. The ambassador said that Poland government was interested in further expanding economic relations with Pakistan in all fields with special emphasis on economic cooperation. The Polish Ambassador said that Pakistan and Poland need to work together in order to identify possible fields of cooperation and to provide proper information to business communities of both the sides. He said though the volume of two way trade between Pakistan and Poland is improving every year but still it is much below their true potential. The Ambassador also promised that the Polish Embassy would do its best to meet such challenges and support any proposals and ideas, which will help achieve common goals. Earlier, speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President, Shahzad Ali Malik said that the current level of trade between Pakistan and Poland needs more concrete steps on both sides and foremost amongst them is the exchange of information.
