Behind a Promising Job Offer

My elder sister recently completed her BS in English from a government university in Peshawar. She came across a teaching opportunity at a private college that offered an attractive salary and additional benefits such as accommodation and laundry services.

Though she had previously taught in schools, this was her first college-level role—and the schools she worked in were in rural areas, while the college was located in the city. With encouragement from our parents, she applied, passed the test and interview, and moved to Peshawar full of hope.

However, after a month, when it was time to receive her salary, the college management unexpectedly informed her that she would also be serving as the warden of the hostel. As a 24-year-old fresh graduate, this was a burden she had not anticipated. Overwhelmed, she called our father in tears. The family ultimately decided she should resign. Despite being a large institution, the college’s unprofessional approach was disappointing.
