BB Shaheed Team wins Independence Day Girls Basketball Festival

LAHORE  -  Benazir Bhutto Shaheed team clinched the title of the Independence Day Ma’raka-e-Haq Girls Basketball Festival, defeating Pilot Officer Maryam Mukhtar Shaheed team 16–13 in the final at the International Abdul Nasir Aram Bagh Basketball Court, Karachi.

For the winning team, Simran Lohana scored 6 points, Vania Adil 5 points, and Aneeqa Asif and Saira Ashraf 2 points each. For the runners-up, AnjilKishwani scored 5, Jheel Kash 3, Um Hani 3, and Fabiha Tariq 2 points. The match was refereed by Nusrat Afzal and Lakshmi Janthia, with Zafar Iqbal, Naeem Ahmed, Zulfiqar Abbas Khan, and M Usman serving as technical officials. Raj Kumar Lakhwani acted as Tournament Director, Haji M Ashraf Yahya as Organizing Secretary, and Engr Zain-ul-Abidin Channa as Organizer.

Dr. Nighat Aqeel, ACMO Government of Sindh, graced the final as chief guest and distributed prizes. The ceremony was attended by prominent sports officials including Commissioner Karachi’s Director Sports Ghulam Muhammad Khan, AC Civil Lines Ahmed Murtaza Khan, KBBA Secretary Zahid Malik, SSBBA Secretary Aamir Sharif, Rotarian Aqeel Ahmed, and other dignitaries.

Meanwhile, the Independence Day Ma’raka-e-Haq 3x3 Boys Basketball Tournament will be played from August 18 to 21 with the cooperation of the Saddar Town Municipal Administration. The tournament will open with MC Noor Hassan Jokhio of TMC Saddar, and the prize distribution ceremony will be led by Haji Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh, Chairman TMC Saddar.
