Jahangir Khan leads Independence Day ceremony at JK Sports Club

LAHORE  -  Pakistan’s squash icon and sports legend Jahangir Khan led a special flag-hoisting ceremony at the Jahangir Khan Sports Club on the country’s 78th Independence Day, calling on the nation, especially its youth, to protect and value the hard-earned freedom achieved through immense sacrifice.

The celebration opened with the national flag being raised to mark the historic day, followed by the cutting of a commemorative cake. Addressing participants, Jahangir Khan paid tribute to the countless Muslims who struggled and sacrificed their lives for the creation of Pakistan, stressing that the younger generation must safeguard the nation’s independence with unity, dedication, and hard work.

“We must never forget the price paid for our freedom. It is our duty to build a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan,” he said. The event drew key figures from the sporting community, including Aqueel Suria, Director of Jahangir Khan Sports Club, Project Director Arsalan Namat, and Coach Muhammad Naveed Alam. The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the country’s peace, prosperity, and unity.
