LAHORE  -  The Punjab Government  has selected SSP Akhtar Farooq for Sitara-i-Imtiaz in recognition of his excellent performance against terrorists, miscreants, and criminal elements. Punjab Police spokesperson said that SSP Akhtar Farooq will be awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz on 23 March next year, Pakistan Day. Akhtar Farooq is currently serving as SSP Telecommunications Punjab.

Akhtar Farooq demonstrated outstanding performance during his posting in the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). He has served on key positions, including as DPO Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Mianwali. SSP Akhtar Farooq displayed exceptional courage and bravery during his postings in the CTD and border areas.

Punjab Police spokesperson further said that Akhtar Farooq achieved remarkable successes against Khawarji terrorists while serving as DPO in the border districts. Through modern policing and public service delivery, he also provided citizens with the best possible policing facilities.
