Investigative team probes journalist Khawar Hussain’s death in Sanghar

An investigative team from Karachi has reached Sanghar to probe the death of journalist Khawar Hussain, who was found dead in his car earlier this week.

The team, led by Additional IGP Counter Terrorism Department Azad Khan and DIG Faisal Bashir, inspected the vehicle and reviewed evidence at the scene. Sanghar SSP Abid Baloch briefed the officials on the initial findings of the inquiry.

Meanwhile, a second post-mortem examination of Hussain’s body was conducted at Hyderabad Civil Hospital before the remains were handed over to his brother and brother-in-law. The body was later transported to Sanghar in an ambulance.

Hussain’s family members, who arrived in Pakistan from the United States, strongly rejected the possibility of suicide. Speaking to media, the journalist’s father described him as a brave man and insisted, “My son could not have shot himself; this is murder.” He added that the family had no disputes or enmity with anyone, calling for a thorough investigation.

Earlier, Sindh Police formed a fact-finding committee to investigate the journalist’s death. The committee is headed by Additional IGP CTD Azad Khan and includes DIG West Irfan Baloch and SSP Sanghar Abid Baloch.
