Mayor Karachi XI clinch Azadi Marka-e-Haq Cricket Festival title

LAHORE  -   Mayor Karachi Youth XI lifted the Azadi Marka-e-Haq Cricket Festival trophy after defeating DIGP Traffic XI by seven wickets in the final, organised by CLYCF under the patronage of sports patron Javed Jhangra. Batting first, DIGP XI posted 56-4, with M Hussain scoring 21 and Dharej Kumar 20. For Mayor XI, Saim Hussain claimed three wickets while Abdul Sami picked one. In reply, Mayor XI comfortably chased the target, with Abdul Sami (23) and Sami Junior (15) guiding the team home despite losing four wickets. Hasan Khurram bagged two wickets for DIGP XI. Hasan Khurram was declared man of the tournament, while Abdul Sami, Hasan Khurram, and Dharej Kumar received special awards. The final’s chief guest was Fahad Shafiq, PM’s Coordinator for Youth Affairs in Sindh, who distributed prizes and congratulated CLYCF on successfully hosting the festival. Karachi Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi also attended the matches alongside senior civil and military officers. On this occasion, CLYCF presented Javed Jhangra Performance Awards to journalist Asghar Azeem, Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Col Amanullah Faiz, SP Saeed Arain, Sh Shakeel Ilyas, Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh, Zulfiqar Abbas Khan, Ghulam Abbas Jamal, and Shahida Parveen Kiyani for their services to sports.
