SC adjourns hearing of Imran Khan’s bail pleas in May 9 cases till Aug 20

The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of eight bail petitions filed by PTI founder Imran Khan in the May 9 cases until Wednesday (August 20).

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, with Justices Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Shafi Siddiqui, heard the case.

During the proceedings, Khan’s counsel Salman Safdar appeared before the court. At the outset, the CJP noted that some documents submitted by the petitioner had not been reviewed. Safdar clarified that the case file mainly contained judicial decisions.

Emphasizing the need to examine all documents, CJP Afridi directed both parties to submit any additional records by the end of the day to allow proper review before the next hearing. He also instructed the prosecution to thoroughly examine the defense submissions.

The hearing was then adjourned until 10:30 am tomorrow (August 20).
