ISLAMABAD - A landmark five-party framework agreement was signed, marking a step forward in Pakistan-China collaboration in technical and vocational education.
The agreement brings together Punjab Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), Shandong College of Electronic Technology, Lancmall (SMC-Private) Limited, Government College of Technology for Women Lytton Road, Lahore, and ITMC Technology Co Ltd to enhance international cooperation in technical and vocational education and training, Gwadar Pro reported on Sunday.
As part of this initiative, a new vocational training institute named “Ban-Mo Academy” will be established at GCT Lytton Road, Lahore.
The academy will focus on equipping students, particularly girls, with professional technical skills through specialized cross-border e-commerce programs.
Key offerings include a vocational skills training centre for cross-border e-commerce, short-term vocational courses, advanced master trainer programs and digital skills development initiatives tailored to Chinese corporate practices and global market demands.
This collaboration aligns with Pakistan’s “Digital Pakistan” vision, reinforcing the country’s commitment to skill development while leveraging international expertise.
By partnering with Chinese institutions and industry leaders, Pakistan aims to provide cutting-edge training in modern technologies and empower its youth-especially girls-with the tools they need to thrive in the digital economy.
The initiative is expected to foster greater economic ties between Pakistan and China while addressing skills gaps in emerging sectors.
