SKARDU - A large number of people including passengers held a protest demonstration after a passenger died of intense cold at the airport lounge here on Wednesday. According to details, a passenger waiting for PIA flight expired of extreme weather at Skardu Airport lounge lacking heating facilities. The passengers present at the lounge protested against the airport authorities for not providing them facilities in waiting lounge. They demanded GB Chief Minister Mehdi Shah and PIA authorities for taking serious notice of the incident and compensating the bereaved family.
It should be mentioned that in winter temperatures in Skardu mostly stand below freezing point.
