James Anderson, Salman Agha nominated for BBL draft

Cricket Australia has today released the complete list of overseas players registered for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) drafts, scheduled for June 19. The drafts will be broadcast live at 4 PM AEDT.

This year’s nominations feature one of the most competitive international pools to date, with more than 600 players from across the cricketing world vying for selection.

For the BBL draft, nominations include:

178 players from England
74 from Pakistan
42 from the West Indies
13 from Sri Lanka
1 from India

Among the notable names in the BBL draft are:

James Anderson (England)
Salman Ali Agha (Pakistan)
Naveen-ul-Haq (Afghanistan)
Siddarth Kaul (India)
Niroshan Dickwella (Sri Lanka)

The WBBL draft also boasts a strong international presence, with:

46 players from England
15 from India
15 from New Zealand
11 from Pakistan

Prominent WBBL draft nominations include:

Amy Jones (England)
Sadia Iqbal (Pakistan)
Kanika Ahuja (India)

The full lists of nominees for KFC BBL|15 and Weber WBBL|11 are available for download online and via the official Big Bash app.

Teams will now prepare to compete for this outstanding pool of global talent in the highly anticipated drafts.

In addition, 15 of the 16 pre-signed players across both leagues have been announced — headlined by Babar Azam joining the Sydney Sixers, as part of a strong wave of Pakistani players set to feature in this season’s BBL.
