KARACHI  -  Pakistani women cricketers on Friday marked  ‘Youm e Tashakur’ with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm. The women players expressed strong solidarity with the brave armed forces.

Before the matches of the National Women’s T20 Tournament, the players offered special prayers for the martyrs of the nation.

A special prayer ceremony was held at the National Bank Stadium before the match between the Challengers and the Stars, and at the Oval Academy Ground before the match between the Strikers and the Invincibles. Women players and officials prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the national martyrs and paid tributes to them. The women cricketers said that the entire nation stands united like a solid wall alongside the armed forces.  They said that the great sacrifices of the martyrs will always be remembered. They also expressed heartfelt sympathy with the families of the martyrs.
