LAHORE   -  The IBIT Sports Gala 2022 concluded here at the Institute of Business & Information Technology (IBIT) Punjab University on Friday.

Record holder Test cricketer Abid Ali graced the ceremony as chief guest and distributed prizes, medals and certificates among the winners. Other notables present there were IBIT Head of Department Mr. Saleem Raza, Head of Sports Dr Asim Tanvir, Additional Registrar University of Sialkot Husnain Javed, IBIT Sports Society members and officials.

The participants of the sports gala took part in different sports events including cricket, futsal, rowing, arm wrestling, badminton, handball, ludo, chess, table tennis and tug of war and displayed quality skills and techniques to emerge as winners. The passion and dedication of IBIT students towards sports and excelling in their respective games were highly appreciable while the way they welcomed and honored chief guest Abid Ali was really commendable.

HOD Saleem Raza said: “Sports play important role in making the students physically and mentally strong. Such healthy activities keep the learners away from bad companies and habits, that’s why we are fully encouraging healthy sports activities in our department and I congratulate Dr Asim Tanvir and his team on making the sports gala 2022 a huge success.” In the end, Abid Ali was presented a souvenir by HOD Saleem Raza and Dr Asim.

Speaking on the occasion, Test cricketer Abid Ali lauded the passion and hunger of IBIT players to further excel in sports as well as studies and hoped that if they will continue to pursue their dreams and goals, one day, they will be national as well as international champions.
