PCB to transform LCCA ground into state-of-the-art cricket centre in Lahore

LAHORE  -  The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to transform the LCCA Ground in Lahore into a state-of-the-art cricket centre.

Going forward, the LCCA Ground will exclusively host international side matches, Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixtures, first-class and Grade II matches, as well as regional tournament games. Academies of both the PCB and Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) will also be established at this venue. These academies will host specialized training camps ranging from age-group levels to first-class and national level players.

The LCCA Ground will be upgraded to meet international standards, offering modern facilities to participating teams. The pavilion will also be revamped to align with global benchmarks.Following Gaddafi Stadium, the LCCA Ground will become the second cricket hub in Lahore to offer top-tier international-level amenities.

Clubs currently using the LCCA Ground for net practice will be provided with alternative venues. Each club will be allocated two prepared pitches, one turf and one cement, at the PCB’s expense, ensuring uninterrupted training activities.

To this end, a meeting was held at PCB headquarters, attended by Director Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi, LRCA President Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed, and representatives of the net-practicing clubs. The PCB assured all clubs that alternative venues would be arranged promptly to facilitate the continuation of their training programs without disruption.
