Civil society stages protest outside Indian High Commission in Islamabad

A large number of civil society members gathered outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to protest against New Delhi’s recent actions, particularly what they called “water aggression” by India.

Chanting slogans against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demonstrators voiced strong opposition to India's move, which they deemed provocative and hostile.

The protest came a day after India’s controversial actions and Pakistan’s subsequent announcement to shut down the Wagah Border and suspend trade ties with India.

As tensions escalated, some protestors reportedly climbed the gates of the High Commission and breached the premises. The situation prompted heightened security measures, with law enforcement maintaining a high alert in the area and closely monitoring the protest as it unfolded.
