To meet the growing energy need we need to look for an alternate resource, the best option is solar energy. Solar energy is not only environment friendly but it is available almost 18 hours in Pakistan. Experts are of the view that if we can benefit from solar energy we can get 7 Lac MW of electricity from the sun. A recent inauguration of Quaid-e-Azam Solar Plant in Bahawalpur is breath of fresh air, which will initially produce 100 MW of electricity. Later it will be enhanced to 1000MW. Hopefully, this project will be completed soon and the government will think of installing other projects to meet the hazardously growing energy demands of the country.
