Allayar and the Legend of Markhor

Directed by Uzair Zaheer Khan, produced by Third World Studios, “Allayar and the Legend of Markhor” is a marvellous film. It was released on 2nd February 2018. The story revolves around a legend of a pious man and Pakistan’s national animal, markhor. The legend is about the friendship between men and animals and, how a markhor helps the man. It includes four main characters, Allayar, a 10 year old boy, Mehru, a young female markhor, Chakku, a snow leopard, and Hero, a bird (chakkor). These four characters are being chased by a cruel hunter named  Mani, who is the villain of the story. The movie sheds light on preservation of wildlife and illegal hunting. The movie is set in the cold mountainous area of Pakistan, where the story begins. Hunter is after the markhor for meat and money, and in the process ends up injuring Allahyar’s father too. This is a wonderful movie and reflects the effort and hard work of Pakistan’s film industries. Must watch!
