KP CM aide hands over emergency supplies to DHO Buner

Peshawar  -  Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Health, Ihtisham Ali, visited Buner district on Sunday and inspected DHQ Daggar, THQ Pir Baba, a medical camp set up by the Insaf Doctors Forum, and Pir Baba Bazaar.

The Health Advisor was accompanied by key officials. He visited patients in hospitals, met with their families, and handed over emergency supplies—including medicines, two mobile clinics, and medical staff—to the District Health Officer.

Speaking to media representatives, Health Advisor Ihtisham Ali said, “I have brought medicines, ambulances, and medical staff to Buner. From morning until evening, I visited every health facility and remained on the ground. We are committed to providing maximum support to the affected population. All health facilities are operational 24/7.”

He praised the people of Buner for their resilience, stating that they have set an excellent example of government-public cooperation during this disaster.

He added that the local population is working shoulder to shoulder with government machinery in the rescue operations, demonstrating that resilient nations always support their governments in times of crisis.

The Health Advisor noted that emergency health operations are underway across the Malakand Division, including Swat, Shangla, Dir, and Bajaur. Medicines and medical staff have been deployed throughout the region, and the government is considering the establishment of a Crisis Management Cell at the divisional level to ensure timely responses to natural calamities.

Consignments of emergency medicines have already been dispatched from the provincial warehouse to the affected districts. Coordination with donor agencies has also been established to enhance support.

Ihtisham Ali announced that the Provincial Disaster Surveillance Unit and the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response System (IDSR) have been activated to monitor potential outbreaks and ensure an effective response.

Meanwhile, on the special directives of Advisor on Health, Ihtesham Ali, and Commissioner Hazara Division, the Health Department dispatched a dedicated medical team to the flood-affected area of Neel Ban in Tehsil Baffa, Mansehra District, to provide immediate relief and medical care to the community.

Led by District Health Officer Dr Faisal Khanzada, the team—comprising doctors, paramedics, and support staff—undertook a challenging four-hour journey on a hazardous 30km road from Chatter Plain, reaching the affected area in the early hours.

A medical camp was established, where 120 patients of all age groups were examined and provided with essential medicines.

Most of the patients were children and elderly individuals suffering from flood-related medical complications.

The visit brought comfort to the grief-stricken community, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Health Department for standing by them during this difficult time.
