Pakistan thrash Bhutan 5-0 to stay in hunt at South Asia Regional Badminton C’ship

LAHORE   -   Pakistan registered their second win at the U-23 South Asia Regional Badminton Championship 2025, thrashing hosts Bhutan 5-0 in the team event on Sunday. Muhammad Adnan set the tone with a ruthless 21-7, 21-5 victory over Ngawang RigselJurmey in the men’s singles. Rising star Ammarah Ishtiaq doubled the lead in style, outclassing Kritty Gurung 21-4, 21-4 in the women’s singles.Adnan then joined hands with Raja Hassan Mujtaba to clinch the men’s doubles, overcoming Avik Balampaki and Jurmey 21-16, 21-10. In the women’s doubles, Ammarah partnered with Umama Usman to defeat Phuntsho Dema and Gurung 21-7, 21-7 in another straight-sets triumph.The clean sweep was sealed in the mixed doubles, where Raja Hassan and Umama battled past Jurmey and Dema 21-11, 19-21, 21-11 to complete Pakistan’s 5-0 rout.Earlier in the competition, Pakistan overcame Nepal 3-2 but were blanked 5-0 by Sri Lanka.
