Gandhara civilization artifacts discovered in Swat

Peshawar  -  Rare artifacts related to the Gandhara civilization, including a captivating statue of Buddha, have recently been discovered in the historic Tokar Dara area of Swat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Commenting on this significant discovery, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, and Museums, Zahid Chanzeb, expressed deep satisfaction. He said that the find not only highlights the province’s rich cultural heritage but will also help promote Swat as an international hub for tourism and research. He added that the incumbent government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is committed to taking every possible step for the preservation, promotion, and development of this historic legacy.

Praising the performance of the Department of Archaeology, the Advisor said that the discovery would attract academic circles and global tourists to Swat, thereby boosting the local economy and raising awareness of the region’s cultural and religious tourism potential.

Zahid Chanzeb reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the discovery and preservation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s historical heritage. He noted that such valuable artifacts not only reflect the glory of the past but also serve as a source of knowledge and pride for future generations.

The Advisor also invited international archaeologists to visit Swat and other historical sites for research, and to help promote the cultural significance of the region on a global scale.
