Khyber - Local tribesmen of the Khuga Khel have called on the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Inspector General of Police to take immediate notice of the illegal occupation of their land in a settled area of the provincial capital by an influential land mafia in broad daylight, and to provide them with justice.
Addressing a news conference at the District Press Club in Landi Kotal on Saturday, Akbar Khan and Shah Zaib said that they are the legal owners of a piece of land located in Tukra No 5, Sarband, Pushtakhara, in Peshawar. However, the land was allegedly seized by land grabbers, who have launched a housing project under the name “New Peshawar City Scheme” on the property. The tribesmen said they have filed a case in the civil court in Peshawar and submitted a complaint to the Provincial Ombudsman.
They identified the alleged land grabbers as Shahid and Haroon, claiming that the two have not only taken over their land but are now issuing serious life threats to them in case they pursue legal action.
“We have all the legal documents proving our ownership of the property, yet the land mafia forcibly took it from us,” they said, calling it a gross injustice. They also appealed to the general public to refrain from engaging in any transactions involving the “New Peshawar City Scheme,” as the dealers do not have any legal ownership of the land in the official revenue records.
Furthermore, they appealed to the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, as well as the concerned police and district administration officials, to take urgent notice of the injustice and help them recover their rightful property.
