Sherpao pays tributes to armed forces for bravely defending country

Peshawar  -   Paying rich tributes to the armed forces for bravely defending the country in the face of blatant Indian aggression, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Saturday said that the armed forces had defeated India during the recent escalation between the two nuclear-armed states.

According to a press release issued here, he was speaking to the office-bearers of the Watanpal Students’ Federation of Bacha Khan University Charsadda at Watan Kor.

Aftab Sherpao said that India had initially made baseless allegations against Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam attack. In response, the government of Pakistan not only condemned the incident but also offered to facilitate an independent investigation. However, instead of conducting an inquiry, India launched an attack on Pakistan — an act Sherpao described as a blatant act of war and unprovoked aggression. He reiterated that Pakistan has itself been a victim of terrorism and strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The QWP leader added that India harboured the illusion that it could intimidate Pakistan through its military might and impose a new normal. However, Pakistan’s brave and professional armed forces rose to the occasion and delivered a decisive response, leaving India with no option but to seek a ceasefire.

He further said that Pakistan had evidence of Indian involvement in the Jaffar Express train attack in Balochistan, yet refrained from directly accusing New Delhi. In contrast, India levelled unfounded accusations against Pakistan following the Pahalgam incident.

Sherpao also praised the role of Pakistani media during the escalation, noting that unlike Indian news channels, Pakistani media maintained professionalism, delivered authentic news, and refrained from sensationalism.

He said that the international community largely supported Pakistan’s stance, which further validated its position. He emphasized that the time had come for India to engage in a comprehensive dialogue with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. Additionally, he urged the federal government to devise a strategy to pressure India to halt its violations of the Indus Waters Treaty.
