LAHORE - Famous YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, was arrested at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Sunday morning after he allegedly tried to leave the country despite being on the Provisional National Identification List. He faces charges of promoting illegal online gambling applications. Officials of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) took him into custody and recovered a mobile phone said to contain promotional content for betting apps, suspicious financial records, and WhatsApp contacts linked to gambling networks. The state, through NCCIA Lahore, registered a case under FIR No. 196/25, invoking sections 13, 14, 25, and 26 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA 2016, amended 2025) along with Sections 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code. According to investigators, Rehman used YouTube and other social media platforms to promote unlicensed gambling applications such as Binomo, 1XBet, Bet365, and B9 Game. They claim at least 27 links on his channel advertised these apps, which lured people into betting with false promises of profit and resulted in heavy financial losses. On August 17, NCCIA presented him before a Judicial Magistrate at the Lahore District Courts. The agency requested custody for further investigation, which the court granted, approving a two-day physical remand and directing that he be produced again on August 19 with a progress report. Advocate Zain Ali Qureshi appeared in his defense. Investigators further allege that Rehman had been acting as a ‘Country Manager’ for the Binomo app without any authorisation from the State Bank of Pakistan or the Federal Board of Revenue, and that he ignored repeated summons to join inquiries before attempting to fly abroad. Authorities say digital evidence from his phone indicates that he received payments tied to gambling promotions, though he has not provided satisfactory explanations. This is not the first time the social media star has faced controversy. In 2024, Rehman and his wife, influencer Aroob Jatoi, were briefly detained in Model Town for displaying firearms online, while earlier this year he was booked in separate traffic-related cases by the Motorway Police for over speeding and dangerous driving. With nearly nine million subscribers on YouTube and more than 2.4 million followers on TikTok, his arrest has attracted nationwide attention. NCCIA officials state that financial and digital investigations are still ongoing, and more evidence may emerge in the coming days.
