Every thoughtful Pakistani is shocked to watch the MQM and the PML-N leaders going for the jugular outside the parliament. They mounted scathing attacks on the personal lives and family members of their respective party heads. This is the height of moral bankruptcy of the second tier political leadership. Is this what the people of Pakistan should expect from their politician who are having no consideration for their suffering and doing nothing to solve the problems faced by the common man? This was a grim reminder of how intolerant, militant and aggressive the society has become. Instead of coming up with the solution to the hapless masses from inflation, gas and electricity loadshedding, they leaders prefer to indulge in mutual character assassination. Those who believe that democracy is not suited to the temperament of the Pakistani people must be very happy to see the politician once again squabbling amongst themselves. ENGR S.T. HUSSAIN
