Seriously regarding welfare

Government has taken a decision to initiate the process of overhauling different regulatory bodies, working in the state machinery. In this regard PM has formulated a committee which will study the reforms in the related laws, rules, and working of regulatory bodies. To begin with prospect examination of four regulatory bodies OGRA, NEPRA, PTA, PEMRA has been assigned to the committee. The committee will be provided with required legal and field expert opinion from the related ministries. It is aimed at bringing reforms in appointment, working and effectiveness of these bodies. It is time the government became serious about this issue. Even a taxi driver knows that the core problem is not the absence of laws or mechanism; rather it is the lack of effective, productive and practical implementation of existing civic machinery run by the government. It is hoped that such steps will facilitate Government’s efforts of ensuring overall good governance in the country.
