Akbar Bugti's grandson released

QUETTA-Shazain Bugti, grand son of slain Baloch leader Nawab Muhammad Akbar Khan Bugti was released on Friday from Central Jail Machh after withdrawal of cases against him. Shazain who is the son of Jamhoori Watan Party President Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti was picked up by personnel of an intelligence agency some one year back from Karachi and kept in its custody for few weeks. Later, he was shown in police custody and shown explosives and rockets alongwith 14 tribesmen. Shahzain drove from Machh, some 60km away from Quetta, to provincial capital in a long motorcade comprising party workers and tribesmen. When he came out from the jail, Balochistan Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Mir Zafarullah Zehri and party leaders received him. The Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani and Home Minister Zaffarullah Zahri took special interest for the release of political prisoners. Talking to newsmen briefly upon his arrival in Quetta, Shahzain Bugti said that he was picked up by personnel of an intelligence agency and shifted in Qulli camp where he was tortured mentally and physically. He pledged that he would continue his struggle for the rights of Baloch people. He also demanded for he release of other Baloch political leaders and activists after withdrawal of cases. His father Talal Akbar Bugti on the occasion said that his son was arrested by secret agencies in May last year from Karachi when he was summoned by agencies officials. He said that police wrongly declared that its personnel arrested his son from Karachi, but infact he was abducted. Provincial Minister for Home Mir Zafarullah Khan Zehri said that release of all political leaders and workers was the manifesto of the present govt and the process of reconciliation would be pushed forward in Balochistan so that those who had been penalised during the past govt could be brought in the mainstream politics.
