Eight persons died here in lightning and torrential rains caving in the roof of a house. Sources said that six persons of the same family were asleep in a house at Madeen Ghat area of the district here, when the wall on the second floor of the house caved in due to stormy rains and crushed them to death, which included Rafiullah, Rahmat Bibi, Seema Bibi, Sabira Bibi, Shahnaz and Zamurrad Bibi, while three persons were injured, who were shifted to a local hospital of Madeen. On the other hand, Farman and Jan Pervaiz seated beneath the tree in a jungle at Kalakot Sakhra of Tahsil Matta struck by lightning died, while another two persons were injured besides six in the jungle were also charred by the lightning.
