Ellie Goulding has admitted for the first time that she is dating Dougie Poynter during an appearance on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man chat show.
The Burn singer has been rumoured to be in a relationship with McFly star Dougie for a while, but had never confirmed the romance before. Asked by comedian Alan what was going on between them, she said: ‘Er, he’s my man friend. Boyfriend traditionally.’
She added: ‘He’s a very lovely human being.’ On how long they’d been together, she explained: ‘ Well, I don’t know. We were sort of friends for quite a long time’ Alan supplied: ‘And it just blossomed,’ to which she said: ‘ Yeah. He is lovely.’ However, not all of Alan’s guests on the show were so full of love - John Cleese threw two drinks over his host in a mock-disagreement over his fame. Alan joked that he was unable to take the Tube like Rihanna has done as it would shatter the illusion,
which made the Monty Python star question whether anyone had an illusion about him.
