Three former CMs announce forming anti-PPP alliance in Sindh

KARACHI - Three former Sindh Chief Ministers alongwith senior leaders of various parties has announced an anti-PPP alliance in Sindh aiming to resolve the various issues of the province.
The anti-PPP alliance in Sindh was constituted in a meeting held at the residence of the former Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim here on Monday.
Former Chief Ministers Liaquat Jatoi and Ghous Ali Shah, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) Sindh chief Saddaruddin Shah and former Speaker of the National Assembly Elahi Bux Soomro were present in the meeting.  
During the meeting, the parties leaders discussed various issues especially failure of the provincial government to tackle the situation of drought-hit areas of Sindh which has caused the death of the people mostly children.
The parties leaders also discussed the issues of the increasing lawlessness and inflation in the province. They vowed to join hands to resolve these issues of the province keeping their personal interests aside.
After the meeting former Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim talking to the media men informed that in Monday’s meeting after discussing various issues of the province all the leaders had agreed to form an alliance against the provincial ruling party PPP which has brought the situation of the Sindh to destruction. “We are holding meeting on agenda to bring Sindh out of hot waters and MQM leaders also visited my place on dinner two days ago,” he said.
Talking about the Tharparkar situation, he said that the sitting provincial government is responsible for the situation while most of the development work in the area was completed in his tenure.
He said that Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah was not even aware with the infrastructure of area, a year a go CM Qaim informed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that roads were not present there and now stating that a Motorway has been established in the area. Did this all happened in a year, he stated.
He further informed that a big amount from the PM relief package for drought-hit areas of province has been received and people were availing the relief goods from the federal relief programme. The law and order situation of the Tharparkar is quite satisfactory as compared with the other parts of the province, he added.   
To a question, he said every one is aware with what is happening in the Sindh Assembly while robbers were given passes to attend the Assembly sessions.
Condemning PPP’s performance in the province, another ex-Chief Minister Liaquat Jatoi said that corruption is touching the highest degree and there is not even a single sign of good governance in the province.
We have not joined hands today for personal interests, since a year we are holding meetings with various political parties and today we are also gathered here for the prosperity of the Sindh,he added.  “We will talk to our friends in MQM and there is no harm in meeting them,” he added.
Criticizing the PPP-led provincial government, Jatoi remarked that there is neither law nor order in Sindh, every one has been set free to take law in the hands. Robbers were carrying out their activities openly in the presence of the police and FIRs were being launched against the innocent people, he added.
He said trillions of rupees have been looted in the name of development works and there was scam of Rs 40 billion in Larkana package while during the last four years Rs 70 billion had been embezzled.
On the occasion, Pir Saddaruddin Shah said that after the 18th Constitutional Amendment all the departments have become ‘half pheasant and half quail’.
He said that various political parties were holding public gathering at Minar-e-Paksitan but annoyed Muslim leagues members remains at home.
PML-F want to bring those all party members in the political field and wishes to see all the factions of Muslim League on one platform.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghous Ali Shah called upon the Muslim League workers to come forward for the prosperity of the country. “We moved courts against election riggings in Sindh,” he said while accusing PPP of carrying out rigging in last year general elections.
He said current governments came in power through rigging as Punjab has been witnessing protest demos against the election rigging while in Sindh we are registering our protest in Election Tribunal.    
He further informed that he has been in contact with the Muslim League leader Zulfiqar Khosa and wants to bring all the annoyed members of the party back in political action.
Vowing to organise Muslim League, Ghous said we consider PPP and PML-N coalition partners as Nawaz Sharif instead of taking any stand against the poll rigging in Sindh supported PPP.
