Indian team arrives to help Punjab in bio-mass energy projects

LAHORE - Agriculture Minister Dr Farrukh Javed has welcomed six-member energy expert delegation at Wahga Border on Sunday. Indian delegation headed by Pavanpeer Singh includes Parambans Singh Romana, Balour Singh, Kanwarjit Singh Sandhu, Harsh Awla and Sukhbir Singh. Secretary Agriculture Punjab Dr. Ejaz Munir, Additional Secretary Ahmad Ali Zafar and senior officials of Agriculture Department were also present at Wahga border.
Indian delegation during their five days visit will meet Chief Minister Punjab and senior officials of Punjab Government.
“Punjab Government is working on bioass energy project these days. Punjab Government has planned to convert one Lac tube-wells on biomass in five years. It’s a project of worth Rs7.5 billion. Bio-mass energy project is successfully ongoing in Indian Punjab as well. The Indian delegation will extend their expertise in bio-mass energy project to Punjab Government so that a better strategy will be adopted for providing ease to local farmers,” it is stated.
