ECP rejects Afzal Khan’s rigging charges

ISLAMABAD- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the allegations by former ECP official Afzal Khan in connection with rigging in the general elections 2013.
An important meeting of the ECP was held in Islamabad on Wednesday with acting Chief Election Commissioner Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali in the chair.
The meeting examined the audio evidence of the Khan’s revelations.
The meeting rejected the rigging allegations and also condemned Afzal Khan’s statements in this regard. It also said that the international observers had also hailed transparency in these elections.
The meeting claimed Afzal Khan leveled allegation on personal grounds and there were no solid proofs of rigging.
Afzal Khan had revealed that the elections 2013 were massively rigged and people’s mandate was stolen.
The ECP said there were reports of analysts regarding electoral process.
