Call for APC to solve 'burning issues'

Karachi - The government should immediately convene an All Parties Conference (APC), so that political leadership could take a collective decision about how to check worsening political situation in the country. Central President Tehrik-e-Istaqlal Rehmat Khan Wardag said this at a press conference held at Karachi Press Club on Thursday here. The politicians should settle matters in parliament, as Long March would not benefit the nation and country, he said. He said the government should call an APC, and all the parties must respect the decision of majority of the politicians in this moot. "The issues of masses need immediate attention and the politicians should avoid politics of collision, realising their national responsibilities", he said. "In the past all the long marches and protest movements were carried out at the behest of America, which finally resulted into marital law", he said. PPI adds: He alleged that America does not like agreements inked in Swat. He said that agreements of Pakistan with China are irking present American administration and they can't tolerate this government anymore. He claimed that America has started supporting anti-government elements and this could have deleterious affect on the country. He recalled that America went against Pakistan when late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto brought Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan to the country for atomic program. He added long march was also launched against Nawaz Sharif administration when atomic explosion was carried out. He said in past America used to allege Nawaz Sharif of funding Taliban and today emissaries from America and England are meeting Nawaz Sharif at Raiwand on daily basis. He alleged Nawaz Sharif of double standards as Shahbaz Sharif took oath from President Musharraf while accepting the same constitution. After the departure of Musharraf the time proved that PML-N and PPP coalition was an unnatural coalition, he said. Wardag said that the courts must take action against those who are openly committing contempt of court. "There are four problems faced by the people including inflation, poverty, law and order and unemployment", he said. He said that the agriculture of the country should be strengthened and farmers must be given incentive in this regard. "The feudal exploits farmers by buying their produce on low rate and selling then on exorbitant price to the masses", he added.
