KARACHI - A newborn baby was found dead from North Karachi area on Monday. The body was found from an empty ground near UP Morr in North Karachi area.  Edhi spokesperson told the body was wrapped in a piece of cloth and Edhi volunteers found it after the locals informed them about it. They shifted it to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. No one has claimed the body of the baby yet who was later laid to rest at Edhi graveyard in Mawach Goth.
On the other hand, police officials said they did not find any clue about the mother of the baby. The police have also started searching the nearby maternity homes.
Meanwhile, a man was killed in a guesthouse at MA Jinnah Road within the jurisdiction of Eidgah police station. Police said the victim was identified as Azmatullah Niazi, 33. Police said some unidentified culprits stabbed him to death and later managed to escape from the scene. The body was taken to Civil Hospital for postmortem. Police suspected he was killed over personal dispute while further investigation was underway.
A body of a man was found from Orangi Town. Police said some unidentified culprits kidnapped him from somewhere and later threw his body. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later shifted to morgue for identification.
Another dead body of a man was found from Manoshino Goth within the jurisdictions of Gulshan-e-Maymar police station. Police said the victim was identified as Tajuddin, resident of PIB Colony. Police said some unknown culprits kidnapped the victim and later threw his body. It was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy and later handed over to the heirs.
Meanwhile, one Muhammad Ismail was wounded near Kashti Chowk, Lyari. He succumbed to injuries at Civil Hospital. Police said the victim was wounded during exchange of fire between the rival groups of Lyari gangsters on Sunday.
Moreover, a minor girl was wounded when some armed culprits hurled a hand grenade in Muhammadi Colony within the jurisdictions of Docks police station on Monday.  Police officials said the girl child namely Humaira, 3.5-year-old, was injured when at least two armed men riding a motorcycle hurled a hand grenade. Police officials said the culprits aimed to target the godown of a fishery trader apparently over non-payment of extortion. The grenade hit the empty house leaving the minor girl injured who was standing near her home. Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and initiated further investigation.
