LAHORE – Two disabled  boys fell into the drain here in Gujjarpura area on Wednesday, rescue workers said, adding, one of them was pulled out dead while the other was alive but in critical condition.
Resident of Elahi Town Muhammad Saleem, 11, and his 10-year-old friend Arslan were playing alongside the drain in China Scheme Gujjarpura area when suddenly Saleem slipped and fell into the drain. Arslan immediately jumped into the drain to rescue his friend but he also disappeared.
Later, some passersby spotted one of the boys and they made hue and cry. A number people gathered on the spot within no time and contacted the emergency service (Rescue-1122). The rescue workers reached the spot and begun search for the boys, said to be deaf and dumb.  After hectic efforts, the rescue workers managed to pull out the boys from the drain and immediately shifted them to a nearby hospital in Kot Khawaja Saeed.
