Police start probe on lady doctor's complaint

LAHORE - Muslim Town police have started inquiry against two doctors of the Shaikh Zayed Hospital on the complaint of a lady doctor who alleged that the said medics had deprived her of cash and other valuables after breaking her cupboard locks. Dr Aysha Shafi, lady doctor of the ENT Department of Shaikh Zayed Hospital, in her application alleged that two medics, Dr Sarfaraz, Registrar of the same department and Dr Raheel, a trainee doctor, had deprived her of her belongings including cash. She alleged that the said doctors broke open her cupboard and took away cash Rs 35,000, two gold rings and her important documents including research papers. Dr Aysha told the police that earlier these doctors had been teasing her over minor issues. When she protested against their attitude, the said two doctors started putting pressure for her transfer to other department. She said that on the complaints of these doctors, the hospital administration also started inquiries against her over petty issues and purpose was nothing but to create harassment. Dr Ayesha told the police that when she refused to get her transferred in any other department, as there were no serious allegations against her, the doctors nurtured grudge and started using their influence. Meanwhile, she said, they took away her cash, two gold rings and also important documents including her research papers by breaking lock of her cupboard. According to sources in the hospital, the hospital administration held inquiry against Dr Sarfaraz and Dr Raheel on the theft charges levelled by Dr Ayesha. The inquiry committee held the doctors innocent in the inquiry report. When contacted SHO Muslim Town Muhammad Amir said that DSP concerned was conducting inquiry on the application submitted by Dr Ayesha of Shaikh Zaid Hospital. About allegations, he said the complainant had alleged that two doctors of the hospital have deprived her of her belongings including cash and other valuables. He said that a case would be registered on the findings of inquiry report of the police.
