LAHORE – Central Shoora of Jamaat-e-Islami on Sunday blamed world powers for the unrest in Balochistan, saying federal and the provincial governments seemed to have deliberately shut their eyes.
The JI body, in a resolution adopted at its meeting that the government had miserably failed in curbing crime and corruption and in protecting the life and property of the people of Balochistan. Through another resolution, the JI Shoora called for stringent measures to overcome the economic crisis, including retrieving the wealth from politicians, civil and military bureaucrats and businessmen lying abroad, or disqualifying all such elements from holding public offices. JI Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan chaired the moot.
The Shoora resolution said that the duty of intelligence agencies was not merely to make sensational disclosures, as they were also duty bound to track down the subversive elements, produce them before the court and make an example of them. It said that the attitude of the intelligence agencies in regard to the subversive activities and killings in Balochistan was not simply against their professional requirement but also violation of their oath for safeguarding the country’s solidarity and integrity.
Foundation stone Idara-e-Ma’raf-e-Islami laid: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan laid the foundation stone for the residential complex of staff of Idara-e-Ma’raf-e-Islami, the academic and research wing of the JI at Mansoora on Sunday.
A large number of JI workers associated with the Idara including its Director, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, and deputy Director Anwar Gondal were present. The project was estimated to cost Rs20 million and would comprise flats for the staff.
In a brief address at the ceremony, Syed Munawar Hasan said that an intellectual revolution and preparing the nation for a practical revolution was the need of the hour. He said that an intellectual revolution was always followed by academic and research work and added that the Idara e Ma’raf e Islami, was practically the think tank of JI.
