BAHAWALPUR - The growers have been facing a great deal of hardships in the ongoing wheat procurement operation as most of the growers of Khangaha Sharif, situated around 20-km away from here, have not been succeeded in getting gunny bag. The growers at wheat procurement centre Khangaha Sharif alleged that they had been visiting the centre on a daily basis for the last couple of days but no officials were available to resolve their problem. Farmers, having political contacts, have been cashing in on the opportunity and easily managing bardana (gunny bag), they alleged, adding that all these malpractices had exposed the govt tall claims. They demanded the Punjab government to take notice of corruption and discrimination in the wheat procurement by the staff of the Revenue Department.
