Schoolteacher shot dead

QUETTA - A schoolteacher was shot dead in Kech district of Balochistan on Saturday, while a person wounded in a landmine blast in Dera Bugti. According to sources, deceased Qambar Abid, was returning to his residential quarter in Turbat when unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire at him. Resultantly, he sustained critical wounds and died. The assailants escaped from the site after committing the crime. Sources said deceased was a resident of Punjab and was a teacher in a private school namely Kech Grammar school. Police officials said that it could be an incident of target killing. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. Meanwhile, one person, identified as Mehrdin, sustained critical injuries when he stepped on a landmine laid by unidentified people, some 50 KM east of Dera Bugti. Law enforcement agencies rushed to the site after the blast and moved the injured to a hospital.
