Chinese embassy holds reception for Pakistan squad

ISLAMABD - The Chinese embassy in Pakistan on Thursday hosted a reception in honour of Pakistan contingent, which is going to participate in the upcoming 29th Olympic Games, scheduled to be held from August 8 to 24 at Beijing, China. The ceremony was held at embassy of the People's Republic of China in Islamabad at diplomatic enclave. Besides the members of the contingent, high ups of ministry of sports, Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) were present on this eve. Deputy Chief of Mission, Yao Jing said that Pakistan and China were linked with each other in the great friendship. "Pakistan provided us the hockey coach and they trained our team very well. Pakistan is also supporting China to hold the hockey event during the mega sports event of the world," he added. Additional secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Masood Ali, Secretary Sports Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Joint Secretary Muhammad Anwar Khan, President POA Lt. Gen (r) Syed Arif Hasan, Associate Secretary Lt. Col Muhammad Yahya Khan, Director General PSB Syed Amer Hamza Gillani, Secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Muhammad Asif Bajwa and sports expert Zakir Hussain Syed attended the ceremony. In the end, the officials of the PHF gave a souvenir to the Yao Jing, host of the ceremony and thanked him to host this reception in the honour of Pakistani players, who are going to visit China for Beijing Olympics.
