Ex-MPA Sarwar Sial quits PPP

RATODERO - Former MPA Ghulam Sarwar Siyal parted ways with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP_ here on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference at his residence in Sachal Colony, Larkana, the ex-MPA, who was elected from PS-35 during 2008 elections, announced his resignation from the basic membership of PPP along with his family and nephews Saeed Akbar Siyal who is general secretary Peoples Lawyers Forum (PLF), Larkana and Tariq Anwar Siyal who is contesting 2013 elections as an independent candidate after failure to secure PPP ticket for PS-35.
Sarwar Siyal counted the services his family has so far rendered for the party and said that his brother Illahi Bux was a founding member of the party and added that during Zia regime both he & his brother remained behind the bars and took part in MRD movement.
He said that in June 1986, Illahi Bux was killed who was at that time President of PPP Dokri taluka and this was also mentioned by Benazir Bhutto in her autobiography “Daughter of the East” on page No: 278. He said that Nazir Bughio had refused to contest elections against Altaf Unar in 2002 elections but he fought with him and lost just for a difference of 4000 votes and in 2008 elections Benazir Bhutto gave him ticket for PS-35 and won with a record margin of 14000 votes. He claimed that he has served the people of his constituency and his nephews have also worked tirelessly for the benefit of poor masses that’s why they could go to their voters and supporters in day light whereas other PPP contestants cannot go even during darkness, he added.
He further said that awarding PPP ticket for PS-35 under these circumstance to Altaf Unar shows that the party has deviated from its basic principles and amounts to ignoring real and dedicated workers.
He further alleged that during 2005 local bodies elections, Altaf Unar got registered several cases against PPP candidates which are still pending decision in various courts. He further contended that PPP has committed injustice with him and his family by giving ticket to its staunch opponent due to which poor PPP workers suffered badly and they now feel insecure.
He further claimed that true and loyal party workers are still with him and his family who have urged us to contest these elections as independents. Hence, he added, they have decided that his nephew Tariq Siyal will contest general elections 2013 from NA-205 and PS-35 as an independent candidate.
