Well, he asked for it and he got it good. Justin Bieber, who had personally requested a roasting, was not let off lightly by his comedian pals, who verbally assaulted him at his Comedy Central Roast in Culver City, Los Angeles late on Saturday.
The 21-year-old singer has given them plenty to work with, with a repertoire of mock-worthy behaviour from the last couple of years. The Baby hitmaker was literally knocked down several pegs as he found himself sprawled on stage on his bottom, as the ceremony commenced at Sony Studios.
Dressed in a bold blue suit, Justin squirmed about on the floor, revealing his striped bubble gum pink socks. He eventually got to his feet, as Roast Master Kevin Hart escorted him toward the front of the stage.
Kevin, 35, was dressed as a pastor in bright blue robes, leading a chorus dressed in red robes -all of whom had watched as a Justin Bieber mannequin with angel wings descended into their midst.
Justin was roasted by Martha Stewart, Shaquille O’Neal, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Natasha Leggero, Hannibal Buress, Chris D’Elia, Jeff Ross, and Pete Davidson. Will Ferrell also took a crack at it, dressed as his character Ron Burgandy from Anchorman.
The festivities played out before a star-studded audience including the likes of Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Carly Rae Jepson, and Ashley Benson.
Justin was also joined on the red carpet prior to the event by his mother, Pattie Mallette, who perhaps offered some moral support. There was no shortage of priceless facial expressions on the pop star’s behalf, sometimes appearing defeated and other times laughing along hysterically.
