Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case: Court asks police to present case record

A sessions court in Islamabad on Saturday directed the police to present the case record in the next hearing in Lal Masjid’s Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case.
Additional Sessions Judge Wajid Ali heard the bail petition of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf in the murder case of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi.
During proceedings, the court instructed the police to present the case record in the next hearing set on October 23.
The court also issued notices to all the relevant parties of the case for the next hearing.
Tariq Asad advocate submitted the power of attorney in the court on behalf of the petitioner, Haroon Rasheed.
During the course of proceedings, Ilyas Siddiqi, counsel for Musharraf, told the court that neither his client was involved in the murder case of Ghazi Abdul Rasheed nor police had any evidences against him.
Meanwhile, the plaintiff's lawyer sought more time to prepare for the case and requested the court to adjourn the hearing.
Later, the hearing of the case was adjourned till October 23.
It may be recalled that Musharraf was granted bail in three major cases against him, including the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, the murder of Nawab Akbar Bugti and the judges’ detention case.
Later, after submission of surety bonds in the Supreme Court, when he was closer to possible release from nearly six months of house arrest, Islamabad police arrested him in Abdul Rasheed Ghazi’s murder case.
