PESHAWAR – To further beef up security during Ashura, army will be deputed in Kohat, Hangu, Kurram Agency and Orakzai Agency, besides using gunship helicopters for surveillance.
To avoid any untoward happening in the most sensitive districts like Kohat and Hangu, Kurram Agency and Orakzai Agency, it has been decided to deploy armed forces during Moharram, Commissioner Kohat division Sahibzada Anis media reported.
He said that a security plan had been finalised according to which the Army would be deployed in the sensitive Kohat, Hangu, Orakzai and Kurram tribal agency to maintain peace during 9the and 10the of Muharram. The Army would take over security arrangements in these areas, using gunship helicopters for surveillance, he added. Apart from, he said that cellular services would also be suspended during the two days of Ashura processions in theses areas.
