Labourer injured as old house caves in



RAWALPINDI – A poor labourer received injuries after an old house caved in when it was being demolished at Satellite Town, the area of Police Station (PS) New Town, here on Friday.
According to Rescue 1122 rescuers, the injured identified as Hakim Ullah, aged 17, was shifted to Holy Family Hospital (HFH) after he received injuries at his head and on back.
The rescuers said that Hakim was demolishing the roof of a room with a heavy hammer when some part of the roof collapsed. The labourer could not maintain his balance and fell down while the remaining part of the roof also came on him injuring his head and the back severely.
Some eyewitnesses and area residents told the media that the house was an old one and the owner hired the labourer to demolish it for reconstruction.
The doctors at HFH told that the condition of Hakim Ullah was stable now.
